It was previously announced that the iconic animated series was collaborating with Fortnite, but that's not the only destination where fans can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The long-running series is coming over to the popular soccer-driving hybrid, introducing an vehicle customization option that will also be compatible in the Fortnite universe. However, if gamers will actually want to use it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons vehicle everyone is eager to drive, and this new offering isn't that one.

What Fans Really Want

While many gamers would absolutely enjoy to face off while driving The Homer—the famously flawed automobile the patriarch designed personally in the 1991 episode "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"—regrettably, that isn't what's being offered. Not even receiving the Canyonero, the heavy-duty vehicle featured in the tenth season. Rather, fans are getting the family's everyday well-worn sedan, which they've been driving since 1989. Though this particular car has seen better days, it remains an iconic symbol of the show. And for players who pay attention to Rocket League vehicle dimensions, the trusty sedan shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

But that's not the sole customization item from the series coming to the game. This limited-time event will also include a set of challenges to earn more rewards, all of which are Simpsons-themed. According to a press release, the missions will task players to "achieve a certain number of centers and clears as there are the show's years on air, gather boost canisters as if your navigation is set to the Simpson house, and travel a specific distance worthy of picking up the perfect donuts!"

Although the full lineup of challenge rewards hasn't been disclosed, here is what has been confirmed up to this point:

• Blinky antenna topper
• Homer's hedge-themed banner
• Waste wheels
• 20,000 XP per challenge

If the key art is any indication, it seems players will also get wheels featuring a TV showing the show's opening credits, alien antenna toppers, a frosted doughnut trail, and boost effects themed to burning tires and Krusty Burger.

Event Timing and Fortnite Connection

This event lines up with the major Simpsons invasion of Fortnite, which brings a completely new playable area of Springfield, as well as a month-long seasonal progression system. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration begins on Saturday, Nov. 1 and concludes on Nov. 17.
