Prince William Plans to Join UN Climate Conference in Brazil

The Prince of Wales will represent the COP30 climate summit in Brazil next month, as confirmed by royal officials.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event ahead of the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belem.

The King and Prince were present at the museum gathering, marking an rare public appearance together at a climate summit preparatory event arranged together with the United Kingdom administration.

Environmental Advocacy Commitment

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil ahead of the climate conference.

Royal sources have described Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as assuming an important role in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the official car, were greeted attendees such as conservation experts, scientists, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This engagement featured addresses in concert with French leader Macron of France and other world leaders at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in Monaco in recent months.

The COP30 summit will align with the William's personal climate innovation prizes, which will conclude in Rio de Janeiro the previous day he participates in the climate conference on the sixth of November.

Recently the prince referred to the Earthshot finalists as "modern-day pioneers".

Monarch's Environmental Record

King Charles has been a key figure at earlier environmental conferences, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the observation: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".

"Throughout my life I've dedicated a large proportion of my life trying to warn of the critical dangers facing us over global warming, climate change and biodiversity loss," the sovereign addressed delegates.
