Ricky Hatton's son Campbell expressed that his pain goes beyond description as he offered an emotional tribute to his father.

One-time world champion the boxer died at his home in Greater Manchester on the weekend.

Police indicated there were no concerning circumstances involving the middle-aged athlete's death.

In his first public comment since the tragedy, Campbell posted a series of pictures on Instagram on Tuesday and expressed: "Heartbroken isn't the word.

"People has always said I was your twin - never a more accurate word said. Respected you in every aspect of life.

"Hard to put into words how much I'm going to long for the laughs we had and all the memories, which I will hold onto forever. Just can't accept we won't have any more. Miss you, Dad."

Professional Achievements

The athlete secured 45 of his 48 professional bouts during a lengthy boxing journey, and was titleholder at light-welterweight and 147-pound divisions. He most recent match professionally in 2012, though had planned to make a comeback into the ring in October.

Known as 'the Hitman', he established himself as a hugely popular fighter with charisma inside and outside the ring - an estimated 30,000 fans journeyed to watch his main event against the iconic Floyd Mayweather in Sin City in 2007.

His son was too a professional boxer and won his first 14 professional fights. He retired earlier this year.

Family Response

The boxer's family issued a announcement on the following day in which they addressed the outpouring of affection and support towards him.

"He had a soul as large as his smile, and his compassion, charm and dedication touched everyone who was fortunate enough to know him," the statement read.
